A passion for fermentation

While we are relatively new to making cider, we have been studying and fermenting beverages for the better part of a decade. Understanding how to create a drink that is approachable, complex and refreshing is no easy task. But our team has done an outstanding job sourcing the highest quality apples and juice this country has to offer.

We understand cider is still very new to a lot of humans in the midwest. Our goal is to help educate those willing to learn and provide them with information to better understand the beverages they are consuming.

Why Waves?

Our cider is proudly crafted in the heart of Columbia, MO, where every sip is designed to resonate, connecting us through shared experiences and the rhythms of life. Here at Waves, “waves” aren’t just ocean tides; they’re sound waves—the invisible threads that bring people together, carry stories, and make each moment memorable.

Crafted with juice sourced from right here in Missouri, our ciders support local growers and celebrate the flavors of our region. From carefully selected ingredients to sustainable practices, every part of our process harmonizes to create a cider as refreshing and dynamic as the connections it celebrates.

Whether you’re enjoying a cider at a backyard concert, gathering with friends, or marking a milestone, Waves Cider Company is here to celebrate the everyday waves that bring us all together. So turn up the volume and raise a glass to connection—one local sip at a time.

Missouri is the perfect place to grow apples. Over the past 3 years we have planted over 400 trees of 80+ varieties in South Columbia.

  • Located just south of Columbia, MO lives our orchard. On just a few acres of land we have planted over 400 apples trees of 80+ varieties. Why so many varieties? Great question! Our goal is understand what varieties grow well in Missouri and to learn what varieties create the most delicious cider. While some of these trees are starting to grow fruit, we likely won’t see enough for full batches until 2024.

  • While we patiently wait for our orchard to start producing fruit we are proud to partner with Happy Apples. Their orchard is located just a few miles down the road in Washington, MO. Widely known for their very tasty candy apples, they also produce a large volume of Jonathan apples, which you can find in our Dry Cider.

  • The most important part of making cider is having quality fruit. That’s why we are proud to partner with local farmers across Missouri. We have the privilege of working with Fire Oak Orchard, Redbud Farms, The Alspaugh Orchard and many more. Do you know someone in the area that has apples? Let us know!
